Course summary
This programme looks at current evidence-based medication management for patients that present with COPD or Asthma. A great way to help you stay up to date while learning from the convenience of your own home or clinic.

Aims / objectives
At the end of the session you will:
- Be more confident in using the treatment pathways for Asthma and COPD, particularly the place in therapy of high dose inhaled corticosterioids (ICS).
- Recognise the risks for patients who use high dose ICS.
- Be familiar with key medicine related factors that are associated with Asthma deaths in the National Report of Asthma Deaths (NRAD).
- Improve your prescribing practice for these patients using a cost-effective approach.

Led by
This course will be presented by Jayesh Shah, BSc(Hons), MRPharmSIP. Jayesh has years of experience in working in both the community and hospital pharmacy. He currently works as a Clinical Commissioning Group pharmacist looking after five GP practices for medicines management and optimisation plus education. He also has a private business, which provides polypharmacy medication reviews and education.
