Course summary
Practitioner Development’s one-day Women’s Health Awareness course is specifically designed for primary care nurses and allied health professionals. The course aims to provide an overview of key women’s health issues, with a focus on menopause, mental health, cardiovascular health, bone health, and cancer prevention.
Through a series of interactive sessions, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of these topics and learn practical strategies for managing and supporting women’s health in their practice. Our expert facilitator will guide participants through each topic, providing the latest research findings and clinical guidelines.

Aims / objectives
By the end of this course, participants should be able to:
- Understand the stages and symptoms of menopause and be aware of the various management and treatment options available.
- Recognize the impact of menopause on mental health and learn strategies for supporting mental well-being during menopause.
- Understand the risk factors for cardiovascular disease in women and learn prevention and management strategies.
- Understand the importance of bone health in women, particularly in relation to osteoporosis, and learn prevention and management strategies.
- Understand the importance of regular cancer screening for women and be aware of the key facts about breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers.
- Engage in open discussions about women’s health issues and ask questions to deepen understanding.
- Apply the knowledge gained in this course to their practice to improve the care provided to women.
